Carmel has received an associate’s degree from Northeast Community
College in Business Administration. She also was the assistant
manager and buyer for a bridal shop in Norfolk, Nebraska prior to
starting Carmel Designs.
Experience gained from her retail
management experience has provided
her with the tools necessary to start her own successful business.
As a buyer, she became very familiar with fit, quality, and design
of garments. As a result, she is able to recognize appealing
qualities in fabrics, designs, and garment construction. As a
manager, Carmel learned how to properly measure and fit garments as
well as provide outstanding customer service.
Carmel is a
member of the AQHA, APHA, and NSBA
associations---Carmel's membership affiliations
include AQHA, APHA and NSBA. She and
her husband currently enjoy showing two horses, HBR Trouble, a 2000
AQHA sorrel gelding and their newest addition, Striders Irish Art, a
2006 bay AQHA/APHA stallion. She primarily shows Hunt Seat and Hunt
Seat Eq, but also enjoys Showmanship, Horsemanship, and Western
Pleasure. Carmel has owned and shown horses since she was very young
and has enjoyed many accomplishments over the years including many
4-H Championships, and a Nebraska All-Around Novice Youth title. She
also served as the 1999 Madison County Rodeo Queen. Carmel is
married and has one son.
